Developed to address the needs of enterprise users seeking tools for collaborating on the Web, iMarkup Workgroup Server enables groups of users to apply annotations to actual “live” Web pages, and then share those pages and annotations with others with whom they are collaborating.
“iMarkup Workgroup Server has transformed the static presentation of Web browsing into a rich, collaborative, interactive environment, while also giving control to users,” commented John O’Brien, president and CEO of iMarkup Solutions. The annotations users work with as part of the iMarkup Workgroup product are made using tools already familiar: sticky notes, highlighter pens and free-form drawing tools. Once made, the annotations are then associated with specific Web pages and retain the position on the screen selected by the originator. Colleagues, reviewers, suppliers and partners who are group members can then make their own annotations, revisions, suggestions and changes. Later, annotations from every member of the team or project can be moved onto the screen and edited - with all annotations subsequently stored on a server. The iMarkup Workgroup Server is also scaleable, from the largest corporate accounts to smaller groups; remote and/or mobile users can access the server to intelligently collaborate with other members of their group.
Annotations and general information are immediately available to every appropriate group member. Depending on permissions, all members of a group can add and modify annotations in real time. Members are instantly in-sync, have a visual representation of the changes, and can see those changes overlaid on the appropriate live Web pages.
The iMarkup Workgroup Server runs on Windows NT/2000 running IIS or Windows 98 running the Personal Web Server. The product is priced based on the number of Workgroup users.
