XEROX SELECTS IMARKUP SOLUTIONS TO PROVIDE TOOL
TO SUPPORT LOCALIZATION OF WEB CONTENT

Company Provides Automated, Graphical Workflow Process for Xerox.com

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Feb 25, 2003 – iMarkup Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of web-based collaboration tools, today announced that it has been awarded a contract by Xerox Corporation for its iMarkup Content Review Server (CRS) product. The technology Xerox selected enables the company to create an automated process for managing the validation and localization of translated content for the company’s dynamic, customer-facing web site at www.xerox.com. The digital content involves 18,000 web pages in more than 9 languages and available to 23 countries.

“Because content has to be very specific to the locale and the region, managing the translation and localization across all global locations could be a daunting task,” commented John O’Brien, president and CEO of iMarkup Solutions. “In selecting CRS, Xerox can leverage the benefits of real-time web-based annotation within an automated workflow system that will enable the in-country reviewers and validators to communicate and collaborate effectively.”

While the Xerox.com team has significant translation capabilities, it operates under time constraints in launching new sites. In addition to efficiency and accuracy, Xerox wanted transparency and automation within its chosen solution. Rather than tracking via a spreadsheet, the Xerox.com team wanted a centralized system that would enable people to see what was happening with the translation and localization activities – what required correcting, what had been corrected, and what had been validated and was ready to be published. The team is using CRS to validate and correct site content for web sites being launched in Europe, Canada, and Latin America.

iMarkup’s Content Review Server (CRS) helps users collaborating on the Web to easily review, annotate and comment about digital content – both before and after it is published. CRS offers a web-based interface that can be easily customized and a powerful feature called Review Sets. Within Review Sets, collaborators can store collections of data (including web pages, markups and URLs), accept or reject changes and maintain the status of content currently in review. Additionally, once Review Sets are created, group members are automatically notified that pages are ready to be reviewed.

“It seems to me that for any corporation planning to globalize a web site, the Content Review Server is an ideal package. We like the workflow and find it helps us address our translation and localization needs, ensuring Xerox customers receive accurate and timely information around the world,” remarked Susie Klinck, Senior Content Manager for Xerox.com.
