iMARKUP ANNOUNCES IMPROVED WORKFLOW CAPABILITIES IN DOCUMENT REVIEW SERVER 3.0

Product Offers New Workflow Engine, web-based Workflow Builder to Improve Business User Experience

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – March 3, 2003 – iMarkup Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of web-based collaboration and workflow solutions for digital content and document management, announced the general availability of iMarkup Document Review Server (DRS) 3.0. Developed to address the needs of business users collaborating on documents, DRS provides a powerful and easy way to distribute, collaborate on, annotate and review documents throughout all stages of the document review process. Version 3.0 includes a powerful new workflow engine that enables users to define both structured and ad hoc workflows, designate privileges for users within the review and approval process and the ability to customize workflow to meet company-specific requirements. A web-based workflow builder, designed for business rather than technical users, enables document actions to be prioritized with due dates for an entire workflow -- as well as every task within that workflow, providing automatic notification when tasks have been completed.

     Unlike other tools available to workgroups and virtual teams, the Document Review Server can also be self-administered, allowing users to create workgroups, invite users into their workgroups and set permissions. Users can easily and securely publish and distribute documents to members of their workgroups for feedback and review and documents are automatically rendered in HTML or PDF format for easy distribution. Additionally, Version 3.0 features four additional major enhancements: workflow administration and reporting facilities that support both parallel and serial reviews, support for user groups, allowing users to be grouped according to organizational structure, review groups that enable business users to manage review environments and a graphic representation of workflow that indicates workflow progress, tracks the minutes/hours that a document is in review and a workflow report outlining the steps involved in that workflow.

     “In previous versions of our product we were able to successfully address dynamic workflow,” stated John O’Brien, president and CEO of iMarkup Solutions. “Now we have taken the workflow process one step further, enabling business users, rather than the IT staff, to build workflows. That is important because business users have knowledge of the route, path or process that a document needs to take. Using our workflow builder, they can now define the participants, and the tasks those participants need to perform, in the review and approval of their documents,” he concluded.

     As with all previous versions, during workflow, versioning and review cycles, all shared documents are stored securely on the Document Review Server and accessible to all appropriate users; markups, notes and annotations made by the reviewers can be displayed either by one reviewer at a time, a subset of reviewers or by all simultaneously. The iMarkup Document Review Server is available on Windows NT/2000/XP running IIS.
