iMARKUP SOLUTIONS’ CONTENT REVIEW SERVER 3.0 LAUNCHED

Formerly iMarkup Workgroup Server, Product Now Embraces Review Sets, Web Page Snapshots and Self-Administration

San Francisco, CA – March 7, 2002 – At AIIM 2002, iMarkup Solutions Inc., (www.imarkup.com), a leading provider of Web-based collaboration tools, announced the general availability of Version 3.0 of its Content Review Server. Formerly known as iMarkup Workgroup Server, the product’s name was changed to more accurately describe how it works within the Web development and review process for Web content. Version 3.0 provides powerful new enhancements to its core product to expedite workflow in reviewing web content. The most powerful feature of the product resides with the structure created by a new feature called Review Sets. Within review sets, collaborators can store collections of data (including web pages, markups and URLs), accept or reject changes and maintain the status of content currently in review. Additionally, once Review Sets are created, the group members are automatically notified that pages are ready to be reviewed.

Seven other features are included in this new version. The Customization and Branding Option, formerly an add-on module, is now integrated into the base product. Web page ‘snapshots’ can now be saved and stored on the server to aid reviewers in commenting on dynamic content. Version 3.0 supports self-administration, enabling users to administer their own workgroups, categories, user lists and review sets. There is integrated support for LDAP and Windows Domain security. User and group templates are provided to enable administrators to pre-configure both user and group settings. In addition, iMarkup has extended its APIs to make third party integration easier and is offering a new Web-based interface that can be easily customized. The Content Review Server can, however, be installed and used with or without customization and can be embedded into existing infrastructures or exist as a stand-alone system.

PDF support and voice annotations, available since the previous version, are also included. PDF support enables groups of users to apply annotations, free form drawings and sticky notes to all documents saved in PDF format without having to purchase Adobe Acrobat to run on every workstation. Voice annotations allow collaborators to explain information verbally when it is too difficult to communicate the level and type of changes required in writing alone.

“With so many aspects of today’s business moving to the Web, the resulting development and management of content has been a challenge. While there are a number of excellent content management systems few companies address content modification, change, review and management,” stated John O’Brien, president and CEO of iMarkup Solutions. “iMarkup’s Content Review Server will help those users who are collaborating on the Web to easily review, annotate and comment about digital content – both before and after it is published,” he remarked.

A CUSTOMERS PERSPECTIVE

Founded in 1997, Omnibility is an e-business solution provider focusing on Internet content and publication management combined with customized web applications. Its clients are global companies in high technology industries such as computer hardware and software for companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100. Omnibility provides comprehensive e-business services built on its core competencies of workflow management, process automation, web technology and infrastructure.

As a Beta user of the iMarkup Content Review Server 3.0, Omnibility integrated the product into its own product, Site Producer Pro, a web application developed to enable Omnibility’s clients to collaborate internally and externally throughout the web publication workflow process. The company is using iMarkup’s Content Review Server as a part of that workflow process to markup and organize content.

According to Daniel Shue, President and CEO of Omnibility, “iMarkup Content Review Server was exactly the tool we were looking for. It allows us to customize products to fit our needs, communicate easily with XML or SOAP and take advantage of both the voice and PDF annotations. We also liked the way iMarkup overlaid the markups -- that made more sense than imposing them on the original document.”

Shue also observed that the user-friendly tools enabled Omnibility to complete its initial integration in one day and to work with multiple workgroups. “Both our customers and internal users are extremely pleased working with the Content Review Server,” Shue concluded.

The iMarkup’s Content Review Server runs on Windows NT/2000/XP running IIS. The product includes support for SQL Server, Oracle 8i or higher, the ability to run and modify reports based on Crystal Decision technology and offers a single sign-on capability.
