iMARKUP ANNOUNCES PDF SUPPORT AND VOICE ANNOTATIONS IN RELEASE OF 3.0 OF CLIENT

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – August 1, 2002 – iMarkup Solutions, (www.imarkup.com), a leading provider of web-based collaboration tools, today announced the general availability of Version 3.0 of its client software, the basis of the client technology within both its Content Management and Document Management Review Server products. Developed in response to users working with PDF documents, Version 3.0 provides enhanced support for PDFs including posting sticky notes, strikeouts, attaching text, files and images, free form drawing, zooming and voice annotations. The voice annotations can be used to explain information verbally that is complex or when it is difficult to communicate the level and type of changes required in writing alone. As with all iMarkup technology, annotations are overlaid and stored separately from the original documents to ensure that data is never corrupted.

     Five additional features are included in this version. To address the needs of iMarkup’s international clients, support for double-byte character sets is now available. Users working with both text and web-based content (and documents created in those character sets including Kanji, Russian, Vietnamese and German) can make annotations and place text on digital content created in their native languages. For those users needing to show formatted or extended text (or voice) annotations, wanting to add color, file attachments and/or hot links, the new version addresses those needs and features with easily recognizable Microsoft-compatible icons. In addition to now supporting wave (.wav) files, all Windows versions, including Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000 and XP, and Internet Explorer, ranging from 4.0 and 5.0, to 5.5 and 6.0, are supported in Version 3.0.
