How It Works

There are two components to the Java Annotation SDK. A server side component (Java Annotation SDK) and a client component (ActiveX plug-in). Your application integrates with the iMarkup Java Annotation SDK and the plug-in provides the graphical annotation functions inside your browser.

The iMarkup Java Annotation SDK is distributed as a JAR file with documented interfaces. This SDK is not a standalone product; it is a Java module that can be integrated into your web-based application for deployment. The iMarkup Java Annotation SDK installation program installs sample JSP and Java code, documentation, release notes, and a relational database for testing the samples. This installation program installs the SDK only. The installation of the iMarkup Java components will be performed as part of your integrated offering.

The iMarkup browser plug-in that communicates with the Java servlet can be easily customized and branded.
